She Shell Logo & Packaging Designs

She Shell is a high end lingerie brand whose name was inspired by the shell bras that worn by mythical mermaids as well as the "shell" or "cover" that lingerie provides for our most feminine parts. All of the imagery on the packages are manipulated photographs of shells taken and edited by me.

The logo incorporates the shape of a shell, the initials of the brand, as well as serving as an inllustration of a wonderfully full figured woman embracing her curves that the lingerie is made for. The typeface was chosen for the roundness of the letterforms reflecting the femininity of the brand.

I created four packaging designs for the She Shell brand:

  • Hanger/rack display for a single bra
  • Gift/novelty packaging for multiple bras
  • Gift/novely packaging for sets of bra straps
  • Gift/novelty packaging for a week worth of underwear

She Shell Single Bra Packaging Design

The Single Bra Packaging design was inspired by the shell bras that adorn the chests of the mythical, infamous, and feminine Mermaid. From there, I wanted to make sure the packaging was practical, could be hung on a hanger, and that the consumer had access to actually see, feel and study the details the product before they buy.

The materials were also chosen to reinforce to the soft, feminine, and organic style of the she shell brand: A paper of medium thickness and a tactile texture was chosen. Details such as the metal rivets and crochet style ribbon were also chosen to reflect the brand's high end products as well as to ensure that the packaging would be strong enough to stand up to being handled repeatedly retail environment.

She Shell Multiple Bras Packaging Design

"The essential collection" packaging design for multiple bras can be displayed stacked/nested or hanging, providing the ability to set up an engaging retail display. The packaging is an abstraction of the shape of a shell, adapting origami techniques to create a folding container. A perfect gift or novelty package which reinforces the high end she shell brand and can be refolded and used again.

The materials used were again chosen to reinforce to the soft, feminine, and organic style of the she shell brand: A paper of medium thickness and a tactile texture was chosen. Details such as the metal rivets and crochet style ribbon were also chosen to reflect the brand's high end products as well as to ensure that the packaging would be strong enough to be unfolded and refolded as desired.

She Shell Day of the Week Underwear Packaging Design

"Day of the week" gift/novelty packaging design for seven pairs of underwear. It can be displayed hanging or rolled up and sat on a surface. The rolled up state is also a great way to "wrap" the packaging for giving as a gift. The underwear is removed from the packaging by removing the clear logo sticker and pulling it out of the circle hole on each of the seven sections of the packaging.

The materials used were again chosen to reinforce to the soft, feminine, and organic style of the she shell brand: A paper of medium thickness and a tactile texture was chosen. Details such as the metal rivets and crochet style ribbon were also chosen to reflect the brand's high end products as well as to ensure that the packaging would be strong enough to be unrolled and rolled as desired.

She Shell Bra Straps Packaging Design

"Bra Strap Multipack" is inspired by the pointed shape of a shell. It holds three sets of bra straps, and displays the straps for inspection by the customer on the outside of the packaging. The package is opened by untying the crochet ribbon used throughout the she shell line. On the inside of the packaging the bra straps are removed by unhooking them from themselves and pulling them out.

Details such as the metal rivets and crochet style ribbon were also chosen to reflect the brand's high end products as well as to ensure that the packaging would be strong enough to be tied and untied/unraveled as desired.
